Chanel De Freitas is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Masters in counselling Psychology from Northwestern University in Evanston IL. Before founding Silver Lining Counselling Services in Trinidad and Tobago, Chanel worked as an associate therapist at Skylight counselling Center in Chicago IL. Chanel employs an eclectic approach to her work, utilizing Psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) and Person-Centered techniques. She believes in customizing a unique therapeutic approach based on each client’s personal needs.
Chanel works with a variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, panic disorder, life transition, grief and loss. Chanel is also passionate about working with couples, families, LGBTQ+ clients and parents/families of children on the autism spectrum.
